From 24 August 2026, Hydra Funding offers a $400,000 Instant Lite account for $1,599. The account is funded at checkout, with no evaluation and no profit target, and is available on Forex, Crypto and Futures.

The 400k runs the same rules as every other Instant Lite size. This blog explains how the account works, what the rules are, and how it compares to the largest accounts at other firms.

What is an Instant Lite account?

Most funded accounts in this industry are earned through an evaluation. The trader pays a fee, receives a demo account with a profit target, and is issued a funded account if the target is reached without breaking a risk rule. The fee buys the attempt; the capital comes afterwards, if it comes.

Instant Lite is an instant funding account: payment is the only step between a trader and a funded account. There is no target to reach first, no phase to pass, and no separate funded account issued later. The account purchased is the account traded and the account withdrawn from.

The conditions have not disappeared; they sit in a different place. In an evaluation model, the firm's protection is the phase a trader must clear before funding. In an instant model, the protection lives inside the account itself, which is why instant accounts run tighter risk rules.

How does the 400k Instant Lite work?

Three steps stand between buying the account and receiving a payout.

1. Clear the buffer. The first 5% of profit, $20,000 on a 400k account, stays with the account. Every dollar above the buffer is withdrawable profit. There is no deadline for clearing it.

2. Meet the Best Day rule. At the time of a withdrawal request, the trader's single most profitable day cannot account for more than 15% of total profits. The rule is a condition on the withdrawal, not a cap on earnings, and it resets after every payout. A payout built across many sessions clears it; a payout built on one session does not.

An example. A trader is up $40,000, of which $9,000 came on one strong day. That day is 22.5% of the total, so a withdrawal request would not clear the rule yet. The $9,000 is not lost and nothing needs to be given back; the trader keeps trading, and once total profits reach $60,000 the same day represents 15% and the full amount is eligible. The rule delays that withdrawal, it never shrinks it.

3. Withdraw. The minimum withdrawal is 1% of account size, $4,000 on the 400k, with no maximum cap. The trader keeps 75% of profits, or 90% with the payout add on. Payouts are sent by bank transfer through Rise or in BTC, ETH or USDC, and most process within one to two business days.

After a payout, the trader keeps trading the same account. There is no funded account transition and no new login.

How does the 400k compare to the largest accounts elsewhere?

The table below compares the 400k Instant Lite with the largest accounts available at FTMO and Breakout.

Hydra 400K Instant Lite FTMO 200K (1-Step) Breakout 200K (1-Step Pro)

Data verified: 24 August 2026 from each firm's published pricing page. Drawdown mechanics differ by firm; see each firm's rules page. FTMO price converted from EUR at the rate on the verification date.

The prices sit within a few hundred dollars of each other. The thresholds are nearly identical in dollars: $20,000 at Hydra, $20,000 at FTMO, $24,000 at Breakout. The difference is what the threshold gates. At an evaluation firm, the threshold decides whether the trader receives an account. At Hydra, it decides when the trader is eligible to withdraw from an account already held.

Which rules can end the account?

Hydra runs one unified rule set, published upfront and identical across Forex, Crypto and Futures. Within it, two rules can close an Instant Lite account.

Max overall loss: 4% ($16,000). The threshold trails the account's highest closed balance. As the balance grows from profits, the threshold moves up with it, locking in gains. It is calculated on closed balance only, so open positions do not move the level. The threshold never rises above the starting balance, and once it reaches the starting balance it stays locked there permanently. If the closed balance reaches or drops below the threshold, the account closes.

An example on the 400k. The account starts at $400,000 with the threshold at $384,000. The trader closes profits and the balance reaches $408,000, so the threshold rises to $392,000. When the closed balance reaches $416,000, the threshold arrives at $400,000, the starting balance, and locks there for the life of the account. From that point the trader can draw down to exactly the starting balance and no further, however high the account climbs afterwards.

Trailing drawdown is often misunderstood, usually because traders do not realise it moves. Hydra publishes the mechanic before purchase.

Max daily loss: 3% ($12,000). The account may not lose more than 3% of account size within a single trading day. The full calculation, including how and when the daily level resets, is published on the rules page.

Inactivity: 14 days. An account with no trade placed for 14 consecutive days is closed. Any trade resets the count, and there is no minimum size or holding period attached to it. It is the one rule here that is not about risk, and the only one a trader can breach without placing a trade.

What can be added to the account?

Three add ons are available at purchase, priced as a percentage of the account price:

Add-on Percentage What it changes

The add ons are optional and the account functions fully without them.

What changes at 400k?

The percentages on a 400k Instant Lite are identical to the percentages on a 5k Instant Lite. Only the dollar amounts change, and at this size the dollar amounts change how the account trades.

A 1% move on a 400k account is $4,000, which is exactly the minimum withdrawal, while the max daily loss allows $12,000 of adverse movement before the account closes. That is enough room to absorb a full sized losing day and return the next morning with the account intact.

Instant Lite comes in seven sizes: 5k, 10k, 25k, 50k, 100k, 200k and now 400k. Pricing is linear from 25k upward: Instant Lite costs 0.4% of the capital it funds at those sizes, $399 for 100k, $799 for 200k, $1,599 for 400k. Smaller sizes start at $29 for a 5k account and $59 for a 10k account.

Questions

Is instant funding legit? Does Hydra actually pay?
Yes. Hydra Funding has never missed, denied or delayed a payout since 2022. Accounts are simulated trading environments with real-money rewards on qualifying performance. Hydra is not a broker or financial institution, and trading results are never guaranteed.
How is instant funding different from a challenge?
A challenge makes you pass demo evaluation phases before funding you. Instant funding skips that: the account you purchase is the funded account, and you withdraw from the same account you start with.
Is the 400k available on all three markets?
Yes, under the same rule set on all three, each with its own platforms and pricing. Forex runs on cTrader, DxTrade or GooeyPro, at raw spreads plus commission priced from aggregated liquidity providers. Crypto runs on DxTrade or GooeyPro, on an aggregated feed across major exchanges including Binance and OKX. Futures run on Volumetrica or DxFutures, using real CME pricing. All execution is simulated live.
Is there an evaluation or verification phase?
No. Hydra is instant only. The account you buy is the account you trade and the account you withdraw from.
Can I hold a 400k account alongside others?
Yes, up to the $500,000 total allocation ceiling across all Hydra accounts.
Do the add-ons apply at this size?
Yes. The 90% payout share, weekend holding and payout protection are all available on the 400k.
Is 400k available on Instant Prime or Instant Pro?
No. The 400k is an Instant Lite size.
What happens if I breach?
The account closes and unrealized gains are forfeited. All limits are published upfront, so there is nothing to discover after the fact. The one exception: accounts with the Payout Protection add-on, which keeps your eligible profits payable even after a breach.
How long has Hydra been paying traders?
Since 2022, with no missed, denied or delayed payout.
