What is Hydra Funding?

Hydra Funding is a modern proprietary trading firm that gives traders instant access to funded accounts — no evaluation phases, no challenges, no hidden rules. You trade Funded from day one across Forex, Crypto, and Futures under a single published rule set (the Unified Hydra Rule Set). Our accounts operate in a simulated environment, and Trader Payouts are based on performance.

ACCOUNTS MARKETS

What is the Unified Hydra Rule Set?

The Unified Hydra Rule Set is the single set of trading and account rules that applies across every Hydra instant funded account — Lite, Prime, and Pro. Same 3% daily max loss, same 1% minimum withdrawal, same 75% standard / 90% add-on payout split, same standardized add-on options (90% payout, weekend holding, Payout Protection).

The differences between tiers are deliberate and limited to three specs:

  • Profit buffer: 5% Lite / 8% Prime / 0% Pro
  • Max trailing drawdown: 4% Lite / 7% Prime / 4% Pro
  • Best Day Rule: 15% Lite / 25% Prime / 25% Pro

Everything else is identical across the product family. Most prop firms use different rule structures for different products, which creates confusion at the worst possible moment — when a trader needs to know their rules without ambiguity. Hydra has built one rule set so you always know where you stand, regardless of which account you're on.

ACCOUNTS MARKETS

What is Instant Lite?

Instant Lite is our entry-level instant funded account, built for traders who want to try instant funding. You trade Funded from day one — no evaluation, no phases — under the Unified Hydra Rule Set. Lite is the affordable entry into Hydra's product family, built for traders who want to experience instant funding without a hefty price tag.

ACCOUNTS MARKETS

What is Instant Prime?

Instant Prime is our mid-tier instant funded account, built for traders who want the most room to swing. You trade Funded from day one under the Unified Hydra Rule Set. Prime offers the largest max trailing drawdown in our product family at 7%, and loosens the Best Day Rule from 15% to 25% — giving traders more room to ride a profitable day before the consistency rule recalibrates.

ACCOUNTS MARKETS

What is Instant Pro?

Instant Pro is our premium instant funded account, built for experienced traders who want maximum capital efficiency. You trade Funded from day one under the Unified Hydra Rule Set — with 0% profit buffer, meaning your first dollar of profit is your own. There’s no firm cushion to generate before payouts begin. Pro is engineered for traders who want every dollar they make to be withdrawable from the first trade.

ACCOUNTS MARKETS

What’s the difference between Instant Lite, Instant Prime and Instant Pro?

Hydra’s plans are built to be simple and easily understandable.

All three Funding tiers operate under the Unified Hydra Rule Set.

Most of the rules are identical — only three parameters differ by tier.

Tier-specific rules (deliberate differences):

Parameter Instant Lite Instant Prime Instant Pro

Firm-wide rules (identical across all tiers):

Parameter Instant Lite Instant Prime Instant Pro
ACCOUNTS MARKETS

What is the Hydra Scaling plan?

Requirements must be completed within 12 calendar months from the account purchase date. Only successful withdrawals of at least 5% of the original starting account balance count toward eligibility. The 3 qualifying withdrawals must come from the same account. Any breach on any Hydra account during the qualification period may void eligibility. Bonus account size matches the qualifying account size up to a maximum of $100,000. Applies to eligible Hydra Instant accounts only. Final approval is subject to account review.

ACCOUNTS MARKETS

Is this a challenge or evaluation model?

No. There are no evaluation phases. You trade Funded from day one under one rule set.

ACCOUNTS MARKETS

Are there subscription fees?

For Forex and Crypto accounts: no. These are purchased with a one-time fee — no recurring charges, no monthly billing.

For Futures accounts: the upfront account purchase covers the first 30 days. After that, Futures accounts carry a $29/month subscription fee to cover the underlying platform and exchange costs that are specific to futures trading (CME data feeds, platform fees, and similar pass-through costs that don't apply to Forex or Crypto).

Important: if the monthly subscription fails to process after the first 30 days, the account breaches. The subscription is a condition of keeping the account active, and unpaid subscriptions cannot be earned out through trading profits. Keep your payment method current to avoid losing your account.

ACCOUNTS MARKETS

What markets can I trade with Hydra?

Hydra supports Forex, Crypto, and Futures under the same unified product system. You choose your market and trade with the same rule structure and pricing model across supported markets.

ACCOUNTS MARKETS

How does Hydra offer 3 different markets?

Most prop firms offer one or two markets cleanly and treat the rest as an afterthought — same execution layer for everything, generic spreads, thin liquidity outside the majors. Hydra runs a unified product framework across Forex, Crypto, and Futures, but the execution layer underneath is built specifically for how each market actually trades.

Forex: Multi-broker aggregated Tier 1 bank liquidity. This gives us raw, institutional-grade spreads — EUR/USD typically around 0.1 pips, with major crosses like EUR/AUD usually under 1 pip. Spread quality is one of the things that compounds materially over a high-volume trader's career, and we treat it as a real product feature, not a marketing claim.

Crypto: Institutional crypto market makers, similar to what large Tier 1 crypto exchanges use. This gives us low spreads and low fees even on altcoins — not just the majors — which is rare in the prop firm space.

Futures: Direct CME exchange liquidity. Trades execute against the real CME order book, with native exchange-level depth on every contract.

The result: same Unified Hydra Rule Set across all three asset classes, but the trading conditions on each are built natively for that market — not a generic one-size-fits-all setup borrowed from another category.

If I purchase another account later, does it replace my current account?

No. Each purchase creates a separate account. Existing accounts remain active.

What add-ons are available?

Hydra offers three optional add-ons that customers can purchase at checkout to customize their account. All add-ons are one-time additions to the account purchase fee — they apply for the lifetime of the account, no recurring cost.

90% Trader Payout (+20% fee) — available on all tiers Increases your payout split from the standard 75% to 90% on every withdrawal. For active traders, this typically pays for itself within the first one or two payout cycles.

Payout Protection (+30% fee) — available on all tiers Protects your eligible earnings if your account closes due to max daily loss after you've already met your payout requirements. See the dedicated "What is Payout Protection?" entry for the full mechanic.

Weekend Holding (+10% fee) — available on Forex and Crypto accounts Allows you to hold positions through the weekend market close. Without this add-on, open positions must be closed before the market closes on Friday. Not applicable to Futures (futures contracts have their own session structures).

When can I purchase add-ons?

Add-ons are selected at checkout.

WITHDRAWALS

When can I request a withdrawal?

Withdrawals are available once you meet payout eligibility and complete KYC:

  • Profit Buffer reached
  • Best Day Rule satisfied
  • KYC complete
WITHDRAWALS

What is Payout Protection?

Payout Protection is an optional add-on available at checkout on all instant funded accounts (Lite, Prime, and Pro).

What it does: if your account closes due to max daily loss after you've already met your payout requirements (cleared the Profit Buffer and Best Day Rule), your eligible positive results may still qualify for a Trader Payout.

Payout Protection does not apply to accounts that violate our Prohibited Activity rules — for example, breaking news window rules.

WITHDRAWALS

What happens if I do not pass verification (KYC)?

Withdrawals require successful verification when requested. If verification cannot be completed, the account may be closed and profits may be forfeited. If you’re unsure you can pass verification, confirm before trading.

WITHDRAWALS

How often can I withdraw?

First withdrawal: anytime after you are eligible.

Subsequent withdrawals: once every 30 days.

WITHDRAWALS

Is there a minimum withdrawal amount?

Yes. The minimum withdrawal is 1% of account size across all instant funded accounts (Lite, Prime, and Pro), under the Unified Hydra Rule Set.

WITHDRAWALS

What is Trader Payout?

Trader Payout is the percentage of profits you receive on withdrawals.

  • 75% standard
  • 90% with add-on (optional)
WITHDRAWALS

Can I withdraw in crypto or fiat?

Yes. Fiat (via Rise) and crypto withdrawal options are available.

WITHDRAWALS

How long does it take to receive my withdrawal?

Most withdrawals are processed within 48 business hours. Timing can vary due to verification, review, banking hours, or crypto network conditions.

WITHDRAWALS

How do I request a withdrawal?

Withdrawal requests are submitted through your dashboard.

WITHDRAWALS

How are payouts sent, and how fast?

You can receive your Trader Payout in fiat (via Rise) or crypto. Standard processing time for withdrawals is within 48 business hours. Timing can vary due to verification, review, banking hours, or crypto network conditions.

WITHDRAWALS

Can a withdrawal cause my Instant Pro account to close?

Yes — and this is important to understand before your first withdrawal on Pro.

What happens at first withdrawal: on every Hydra account, the trailing max drawdown caps at the initial balance — it trails upward as your account grows but stops there. If your trailing drawdown is still below the initial balance when you take your first withdrawal, it moves up to the initial balance once the withdrawal is processed.

Why this matters on Pro specifically: Pro has a 0% profit buffer, meaning your full earned profit is withdrawable from the first dollar. If you choose to withdraw all of your gains, your account balance returns to the initial balance — which is now equal to your drawdown threshold. The withdrawal itself causes the account to breach.

Example: on a $100K Instant Pro account with 4% max drawdown:

  • Your trailing drawdown starts at $96,000 (4% below initial balance)
  • You earn $5,000 in profit (balance: $105,000); the trailing drawdown trails upward and caps at $100,000 (the initial balance)
  • You withdraw all $5,000 — balance returns to $100,000, equal to the drawdown threshold
  • The account breaches at withdrawal processing. No further trading possible.

Why this risk is unique to Pro: on Instant Lite (5% buffer) and Instant Prime (8% buffer), the profit buffer is permanently retained by Hydra as a cushion above the starting balance — traders can never withdraw it. That cushion exceeds the max drawdown on each tier (5% > 4% on Lite, 8% > 7% on Prime), so even after a full withdrawal of available profits, the buffer protects the account from immediate breach. Pro has no buffer, so this protection doesn't exist.

How to manage this: the standard practice on 0% buffer accounts is to take partial withdrawals, leaving a cushion above the initial balance. Pro is engineered for traders who understand and plan for this — it's the trade-off for having no buffer to clear before profits become withdrawable.

RULES

What is the Profit Buffer?

The Profit Buffer is the profit threshold required before withdrawals are allowed. Only profits above the Profit Buffer may be withdrawn.

  • Instant Lite: 5%
  • Instant Prime: 8%
  • Instant Pro: 0%
RULES

How does Max Trailing Drawdown work?

The Max Drawdown on every Hydra instant funded account is a trailing drawdown that caps at the initial balance. Two parts to that:

Trailing: as your account balance grows from profits, the drawdown threshold moves up with it. This locks in your gains — a trader who runs the account from $100,000 up to $103,000 sees the drawdown threshold trail upward, so a future loss can't take them back below their progress as easily.

Caps at initial balance: the drawdown threshold trails upward but stops at the initial balance. It never moves above it. Once your account growth pushes the drawdown to the initial balance, that's where it stays — even if the account keeps growing further. This is the firm's protection layer: drawdown protection scales up with you, but only up to the starting point.

The drawdown is calculated on closed balance — your account balance after positions are closed — not on floating P&L from open positions. If your closed balance hits the drawdown threshold, the account closes.

Max Drawdown by tier (under the Unified Hydra Rule Set):

  • Instant Lite: 4%
  • Instant Prime: 7%
  • Instant Pro: 4%
RULES

How is Max Daily Loss calculated?

Max Daily Loss is the maximum loss allowed in a single trading day. It's calculated against a daily anchor that resets at market close (5:00 PM EST) each day.

How the anchor is set: at market close, the system records the higher of your account balance or equity (whichever is greater) as the anchor for the next trading day. If you closed the day up — either in realized profit or floating P&L on open positions — your peak is locked in as the starting point for the next day's loss calculation.

How the limit applies: during the next trading day, your equity must stay above (anchor − 3%). If equity drops to or below that threshold at any point during the day, the account closes.

The anchor resets every day at market close, so each trading day starts fresh from your most recent peak.

Max Daily Loss is 3% across all instant funded accounts (Lite, Prime, Pro) under the Unified Hydra Rule Set.

RULES

What is the Best Day Rule?

The Best Day Rule limits how much of your total results can come from a single trading day when requesting a Trader Payout.

It is calculated using the largest equity-to-equity gain within one trading day, not just closed trades.

At the time of withdrawal, your highest single trading day cannot exceed:

  • Instant Lite: 15%
  • Instant Prime: 25%
  • Instant Pro: 25%

This rule is designed to encourage consistency rather than reliance on one outsized day.

RULES

How does the Best Day Rule work after a withdrawal?

After an approved Trader Payout, the Best Day Rule resets.

For the next Trader Payout cycle, we measure your best trading day and total profits only from the time of the last approved Trader Payout forward. Earlier profits do not carry into the next calculation.

Example:

If a $100,000 Instant Lite account reaches $108,000, total profit is $8,000.

The first $5,000 is the required Profit Buffer and must remain in the account. If a $2,000 Trader Payout is requested and approved, the account balance becomes $106,000.

For the next Trader Payout cycle, the Best Day Rule is measured only on new profits earned after that payout. The initial $8,000 run does not carry forward into the next calculation.

RULES

Can I trade during news events?

Opening new positions within 3 minutes before or after a high-impact news event is prohibited. Closing existing positions is allowed (including stop losses and take profits). Trades opened inside the restricted window may be removed and the account may be closed.

RULES

Is there an inactivity rule?

Yes. If you do not place at least one trade within the required period, the account may be closed for inactivity.

  • Instant Lite: 14 days
  • Instant Prime: 30 days
  • Instant Pro: 30 days
RULES

Can I hold trades over the weekend?

Weekend holding is not allowed by default for Forex or Crypto. A Weekend Holding add-on is available for both. With the add-on on a Crypto account, you can also trade over the weekend. (Futures: see the question below for overnight rules.)

RULES

Can I hold Futures positions overnight?

No. Futures are intraday only — all positions must be closed before the end of the daily session. Any positions still open at 15:55 CT are auto-closed by the platform. No breach, no penalty — just a forced flatten.

RULES

What happens if I break a rule?

If a rule is violated, the account is closed and any gains are forfeited.

Exception: accounts with the Payout Protection add-on. If the account closes via the 3% Max Daily Loss and, at the moment of closure, the account remains payout-eligible (Profit Buffer cleared, Best Day Rule still satisfied based on the equity curve including the breach day) and has not engaged in any Prohibited Activity, the eligible earned profits will be paid out.

See "What is Payout Protection?" for details.

POLICIES

What is prohibited trading activity?

Strategies that exploit execution, pricing, or program rules are not allowed. Prohibited activity includes, for example:

  • Exploiting pricing errors, platform bugs, or latency
  • Copy trading from any account that is not your own
  • Arbitrage designed to exploit execution or pricing discrepancies
  • Using insider or non-public information
  • Front-running or trading that creates regulatory/liquidity-provider issues
  • Using third-party “passing services,” trade-copy networks, or coordinated group trading
  • Any trading that jeopardizes Hydra’s relationships with brokers or liquidity providers

If prohibited activity is detected, Hydra may remove trades, close accounts, deny withdrawals, and/or permanently restrict participation. For the full policy list, refer to our Terms of Service

POLICIES

Is copy trading allowed?

Copy trading is only permitted when all accounts involved are owned by you. Group trading, signal services, passing services, or any method that bypasses individual strategy is not allowed.

POLICIES

What are the Platform Fees?

Futures trading requires real-time market data from the CME exchange and access to a professional trading platform such as Tradovate, DXTrade, or Volumetrica. These providers charge per-account monthly fees, which we pass through to you.

Your first 30 days of platform access are included with your account purchase. After that, the fee is $29/month. We’ll send you a reminder email 5 days before your first charge so you know exactly when it’s coming.

This fee applies to Futures accounts only — Forex and Crypto accounts have no recurring fees.

POLICIES

What happens if my Platform Fee payment fails?

If your card declines on the monthly Platform Fee charge, your Futures account will be marked as breached and trading access will end. We’ll notify you 5 days before each charge so you can update your payment method if needed. You can avoid this by ensuring your card on file remains valid and able to process the charge.

POLICIES

What are the leverage and position size limits across different markets?

Hydra provides optimized trading conditions for each market. Limits are defined as follows:

Forex Leverage:

  • FX: 1:50
  • Metals, Indices, and Oils: 1:5
  • Crypto: 1:2

Crypto Leverage:

  • BTC & ETH: 5:1
  • Others: 2:1

Futures Exposure Limits:

  • 10k Account: 1 Contract / 15 Micros
  • 25k Account: 1 Contract / 15 Micros
  • 50k Account: 3 Contracts / 30 Micros
  • 100k Account: 6 Contracts / 60 Micros
  • 200k Account: 12 Contracts / 120 Micros
POLICIES

Are there position size or order limits?

Maximum position size is generally determined by available margin. There are contract limit sizes on Futures accounts. We may adjust margin requirements or apply limits to order size or open positions due to market conditions or risk controls.

POLICIES

How many accounts can I have active at one time?

You can hold as many active accounts as you like — including more than one of the same product, size, or market — up to a combined total of $500,000 in account size at any one time.We work this out by adding up the account size of all your active accounts. As long as the total stays at or under $500,000, you’re free to mix and match any products and sizes you want.

When an account closes, breaches, or is terminated, that allocation frees up again — so you can open new accounts up to the cap whenever you like, including after a withdrawal or an account closure.

For example:

  • Two Instant Lite 200k accounts + one Instant Lite 100k ($500,000 total)
  • Instant Lite 100k + Instant Prime 100k + Instant Pro 100k
POLICIES

Who is the counterparty to my trades?

To manage risk and execution, trades may be hedged, routed, or internalized depending on market and conditions. For full details, refer to the Terms of Service page.

POLICIES

What brokers or liquidity providers do you use?

We aggregate liquidity across multiple sources. Providers can vary by platform and may change over time. For full details, refer to the Terms of Service page.

POLICIES

Do I need to pass KYC to sign up?

No. You can purchase an account and start trading Funded without completing KYC upfront. KYC verification is required before your first withdrawal — it confirms your identity when you become payout-eligible. If you’re unsure you can complete verification, confirm before trading, since withdrawals cannot be processed without it.

POLICIES

What is the minimum age required to purchase?

You must be at least 18 years old (or the applicable minimum legal age in your country).

POLICIES

Are there any restricted countries?

Hydra does not onboard users from certain jurisdictions due to international sanctions, regulatory requirements, or internal compliance policies.

At this time, we do not accept users from:

  • Pakistan
  • Russia
  • Cuba
  • Sudan
  • Somalia
  • Iran
  • Libya
  • Syria
