FTMO launched the FTMO Instant Account on 12 October 2026: a simulated account from $5K to $100K that is active on purchase, with no evaluation. It costs $189 to $3,399, with a 10% maximum loss, a 3% daily loss limit, a 30% consistency rule and a 90% reward.

Until that date, FTMO sold evaluations only. This page sets out what the Instant Account changes, how its rules work, and how it compares with three other instant accounts in the same price bracket. Every FTMO figure comes from FTMO's own pages, because early coverage disagrees on both the price and how the maximum loss trails. Hydra Funding publishes this article and appears in the comparison.

In short

  • FTMO Instant is a no-evaluation account, $5K to $100K, launched 12 October 2026
  • At $100K it lists at $3,399; Funded Trading Plus Instant lists at $4,499 at $100K, Instant Funding PRO at $3,699 at $80K, and Hydra Funding Instant Pro at $1,900 at $100K
  • Its 10% ($10,000) maximum loss trails the highest closed balance without ever locking, and it adds a 3% daily loss limit that Instant Funding PRO does not have
  • Its 30% consistency rule resets after each reward

All accounts operate in a simulated environment. Trader Payout eligibility is determined strictly by the plan rules outlined in the Terms of Use. Prices are list prices, verified 4 November 2026.

How does FTMO Instant compare with other instant accounts?

All four sit in the premium price bracket. They differ most on how much room the maximum loss gives, whether a daily limit applies, and how often payouts come.

List prices read from each firm's own pages on 4 November 2026, ordered from lowest to highest. Instant Funding PRO is sold at $80K and $120K rather than $100K, so its $80K account is shown. Hydra Funding sells three instant models; the table shows Instant Pro, the model in the same bracket, which like FTMO Instant applies no buffer. Verified, not exhaustive: several hundred prop firms exist, and a verified addition joins at the next monthly refresh.

How does FTMO Instant's maximum loss work?

FTMO Instant's 10% maximum loss trails the highest balance reached from closed trades, updates the moment a trade closes at a new high, and never locks. FTMO also states that the limit carries over after a reward is withdrawn.

A worked example on a $100K FTMO Instant account:

  • The limit starts at $90,000
  • Closed balance reaches $106,000: the limit rises to $96,000
  • Closed balance reaches $112,000: the limit rises to $102,000, above the starting balance

Because the limit keeps rising and does not reset after a reward, FTMO notes that once the balance passes 110% of the starting capital ($110,000), withdrawing a reward would breach it. A trader on FTMO Instant has to keep that cushion in mind before every withdrawal.

A locking drawdown behaves differently. On a $100K Hydra Funding Instant Pro, the 4% limit starts at $96,000, rises with the highest closed balance, and locks permanently at $100,000 once the closed balance reaches $104,000. It is tighter at the start, and fixed after that.

What does FTMO's launch mean for instant funding?

A firm built on evaluations now sells an instant account alongside its challenges. FTMO has operated since 2015 and reports more than 4.5 million customers, and from 12 October 2026 its lineup has three routes: 2-Step, 1-Step and Instant.

Two details in FTMO's own launch post stand out. It prices Instant above its challenges, and it describes Instant's trading objectives as stricter than on its 1-Step and 2-Step accounts. That matches how instant funding works across the market: no evaluation in exchange for a higher fee and tighter conditions from the first trade.

How does Hydra Funding's instant account work?

Hydra Funding has operated since 2022, launched Instant Lite in November 2025 and has been instant-only since March 2026, selling instant funding accounts across Forex, Crypto and Futures under the Unified Hydra Rule Set.

Instant Pro, the model in the table, costs $1,900 at $100K, applies a 25% Best Day rule and has no buffer. Like every Hydra Funding account, it carries a 4% maximum drawdown that trails the highest closed balance and locks at the starting balance, raised to 6% with the +2% add-on. A breach is checked on equity at any moment, including while trades are open. The 3% daily loss limit sits 3% below a daily anchor, set at 5:00 PM EST as the higher of balance or equity, and is measured on equity. The Trader Payout is 75%, or 90% with the add-on. The first withdrawal can be requested once the account is eligible, then once every 30 days from approval of the last one. KYC is required before the first withdrawal.

The other two models trade price against consistency rule and buffer: Instant Lite costs $399 at $100K, with a 15% Best Day rule and a 5% buffer, and Instant Prime $999, with a 50% Best Day rule and an 8% buffer.

So, which one?

The right account is the one whose rules your strategy survives on a normal losing week. Work through the table in this order:

  1. Check the maximum loss and how it trails: a wider limit that never locks and a tighter limit that locks behave differently as the account grows.
  2. Read the consistency rule against how your best days usually arrive.
  3. Check how often you can withdraw and what the first withdrawal requires.
  4. Compare price last, at list price.
