Best Prop Firms for Forex Trading in 2026

Which forex prop firm is best depends on what a trader needs a firm to be. This article profiles four of the most recognisable ones, FTMO, FundedNext, FundingPips and Hydra Funding, what each is known for, how each model works, and the rules to check before buying, read from every firm's own account builder and published terms.
To keep the comparison fair, it is anchored at one budget: what roughly $400 buys at each firm. The four products at that price are genuinely different, two evaluations and two accounts funded at checkout, and that difference, not the brands, is the real choice.
In short
- FTMO: the industry's reference brand since 2015; around $400 buys the 50k 2 Step Challenge, $399, fully refundable on funding
- FundedNext: the widest product range of the four; a 100k Stellar Lite evaluation at $399.99, up to 95% payout split
- FundingPips: a 100k account funded at purchase, $444, 95% biweekly, with the strictest published risk rules in the table
- Hydra Funding: a 100k account funded at purchase, $399, from the only instant only firm here, covering Forex, Crypto and Futures
All four firms operate simulated environments. Prices are list prices, verified 15 September, 2026; all four run discount codes, so check each checkout.
What does roughly $400 buy at each firm?
At list prices near that point: a 50k two phase evaluation at FTMO, a 100k two phase evaluation at FundedNext, or a 100k account funded at purchase at FundingPips or Hydra Funding. The rules per product:
The table's shape is the market's shape. The evaluation route buys a larger account per dollar and a refundable fee, priced against targets to hit before any capital arrives. The instant route buys the funded account itself, priced with tighter loss limits from day one. Everything else, splits, day requirements, consistency rules, is each firm's own answer to the same risk.
FTMO
The most recognised name in forex prop, founded in Prague in 2015, and for many traders the reference point the rest of the industry is measured against. The flagship is the 2 Step Challenge, 10% then 5% targets with a 5% daily and 10% maximum loss, a fully refundable fee on funding, and payouts up to 90%; a 1 Step Challenge sits alongside it. Around them is the widest supporting ecosystem in the vertical: account scaling for funded traders, a free trial, the FTMO Academy's education, performance analytics, and a recently launched futures offering in beta alongside the core CFD product. Sizes run from $10k ($89) to $200k ($1,249), with scaling beyond for funded traders who perform. US residents are served through FTMO US, a separate entity launched with OANDA in 2025, with its own terms.
FundedNext
Founded in 2022 and grown in four years into one of the largest firms in the vertical, with a product range wider than anyone else in this table: Stellar 2 Step and 1 Step, the Stellar Lite compared here, an instant funding line at smaller sizes, and a separate futures arm. Stellar Lite's challenge runs 8% and 4% targets under a 4% daily and 8% static maximum loss, with 5 minimum trading days, EAs permitted used responsibly, and rules against unauthorised copy trading and shared IPs, one login footprint per trader. The funded stage pays up to 95%, with the first withdrawal at 21 days, subsequent ones at 14, and the fee refunded at the third reward. Add ons can remove minimum trading days, widen the loss limit or speed the reward cycle.
FundingPips
Founded in 2022 and now a top three name on comparison platforms, with the highest standard split in this table, 95% biweekly, on a 0 step account funded at purchase. Maximum allocation runs to $400k across accounts. The price of that combination is the strictest published risk framework of the four, applied as hard breaches with immediate closure: a 3% daily limit from the higher of opening balance or equity, a 5% trailing maximum that locks at breakeven once 5% in profit, floating losses capped at 1% of starting size at any time, risk per trade idea capped at 2% at this size across correlated positions, at least 7 profitable days of 0.25%+ in every rolling 30 day period, and closure after 30 days without a completed trade. FundingPips also sells 1 step and 2 step evaluations alongside Zero.
Hydra Funding
An instant only firm operating since 2022: no evaluations of any kind, on Forex, Crypto and Futures under one ruleset. The Instant Lite compared here carries a 4% trailing drawdown calculated on closed balance that locks permanently at the starting balance, a 3% daily limit, no floating loss cap, and a 15% Best Day rule. The only threshold is the 5% profit buffer: the first 5% of profit stays with the account, and profits above the buffer are withdrawable. The first payout is on demand once profits pass the buffer, with a 1% minimum and no maximum, most processing in 1 to 2 business days by bank transfer via Rise or in BTC, ETH or USDC. Instant funding accounts run from $29 at 5k to $1,599 at 400k for Instant Lite, one time on Forex and Crypto; Futures adds a $29/month platform fee after the first 30 days. Instant Prime and Instant Pro are other models carrying more flexible rules on the same drawdown mechanics. Full disclosure: this comparison is ours.
How should you choose?
Four questions sort it faster than any ranking. Do you want to prove first and pay less, or fund now and accept tighter limits, that is the evaluation versus instant choice, and it is the biggest one. How does your strategy lose, check your worst normal day against the daily limits and any floating caps. How do you want to be paid, refundable fees and cycles versus on demand. And which markets you trade: all four are forex houses first, FTMO and FundedNext also run futures as separate products with their own rules and accounts, and one firm here covers forex, crypto and futures under a single ruleset and account range. The best forex prop firm is the one whose rules your strategy already survives.
